Queer community magic rooted in Amsterdam and beyond
The Kindred Faeries are an Amsterdam-based constellation of Radical Faeries and queer community builders. We create intimate, heart-centred gatherings, workshops, and social spaces for LGBTQIA+ people in and around the city — grounded in the Radical Faerie tradition of non-commercial, radically inclusive community.
We honour the broader Radical Faeries of Europe network while cultivating our own distinctly urban, Amsterdam flavour. From canal-side heart circles to weekend nature retreats just outside the city, Kindred Faeries brings the magic of the faerie tradition into city life without losing its earthly, authentic spirit.
Kindred Faeries believe that queer community can thrive in the city without becoming commercialised or performance-focused. We create space for people to arrive as they truly are — messy, brilliant, tender, and wholly themselves.
What We Do
Our Amsterdam-based events include heart circles, creative workshops, community dinners, and seasonal gatherings that blend the urban energy of the city with the grounding, nature-connected spirit of the Radical Faerie tradition. We also organise occasional out-of-city retreat weekends for deeper immersion.
We are part of the Kindred network, connecting Amsterdam queers to the wider Radical Faerie family in the Netherlands, Europe, and beyond.

Openness & Inclusivity
Everyone is welcome who arrives in good faith. We celebrate gender diversity, queerness in all its forms, and the many paths people walk toward self-understanding.
Non-commercial & Community-Led
Our spaces are created by faeries, for faeries. No one is expected to perform, produce, or be anything other than themselves.
Ecology & Connection to Nature
Nature isn’t just a backdrop; it’s a teacher, a collaborator, and a sanctuary. We work to honour the land and act in ways that support ecological care.
Spirituality Without Dogma
We invite spiritual exploration without telling anyone what that should look like. Ritual, play, sensuality, grief, joy, silence, song; they all have a place here.
Mutual Care & Accessibility
We try to remove barriers to participation by offering solidarity funds, shared resources, and a culture of care so that people with fewer means or with vulnerabilities feel welcome.
Growing Kindred
The Kindred Faeries community is growing and evolving, welcoming new faces, new friendships, and new dreams. Amsterdam is a city full of queer history and queer futures — and we want Kindred to be one of the spaces where that future gets shaped with tenderness, weirdness, and joy.
